It's true what they say...they grow up so fast! Katelyn is now 6 months old and just had her 2nd session in her Baby's First Year Plan. She was so much fun to photograph and totally made my job easy.
She looks just like a little doll in this one!
We did this session at Katelyn's home, and her brothers got in on the session too! I love photographing children in their own environments--Kids are so much more comfortable in their own houses and I think it really shows.
I love this next one.
This one just cracked me up--we were trying to get a shot of all 3 kids together and Dylan would not cooperate. I love how Brendan and Katelyn have almost identical looks on their faces!
What a fun session! Can't wait for our next one in a few months :)

Romy + Bill: Married! | Northern VA Wedding Photographer
Romy and Bill were married at Wakefield Chapel, which I absolutely adore. Historic properties are some of my favorite places to shoot, as I am a sucker for all the architectural charm of yesteryear.
Romy and Bill had known each other since high school, but had lost touch then later reconnected. There was a lot of "it's about time" from all the guests at the wedding! We had a gorgeous day as you can see here.
The expressions in this shot are priceless.
Bill waiting for his bride to walk down the aisle.
The connection between Romy and her dad was so strong. I love these next few and the way he is looking at her.
The Reception was held at Heart in Hand in Clifton, which couldn't really get more charming. The town just exudes cuteness. Right next to the restaurant are train tracks AND a caboose! I was seriously excited. See, I LOVE trains and the caboose is my favorite. I have many memories of sitting down at the tracks at the end of my grandmother's street in Detroit, picking up shiny pieces of coal that were shaken off the cargo trains. Then, when I first got into photography, the train tracks in Romeo, MI was one of my favorite locations to experiment shooting.
While we were doing the portraits, a train came by! Me + camera + cute couple + fast moving train=super happiness!! These ended up to be some of my favorites from the day.
And of course we did lots of photos on the tracks and caboose sans train.
Romy and Bill were kind enough to indulge me in a little night time photography.
The first dance.
Congratulations Romy and Bill! We had a great time at your wedding and wish you tons of happiness!

Maria + Wayne: Engaged! | Old Town Alexandria Engagement Photos | Northern VA Wedding Photographer
I met Maria and Wayne down in Old Town for their engagement session on a gorgeous Summer evening. Old Town is such a fun place to do a session and it has special meaning for the couple as they live nearby and had their first date in there. Maria and Wayne are both photography buffs, so we had a great time walking around town and chatting about light, locations and cameras. Here are some of my favorites from the session--enjoy!
I saw this fence from down the street and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it :)
I love these old style advertisements. I didn't even realize there were any left in this area!
Maria and Wayne, I had a blast getting to know you both better--can't wait till your wedding in October!

Marina + Chris: Engaged! | Washington DC Enagagement Photos | Washington DC Wedding Photographer
Marina and Chris' Engagement Session was one of the many that had to be rescheduled because of the ridiculous amount of rain we got this Spring. The couple actually got engaged along the tidal basin and really wanted to do some photos there. The area tends to flood out with even a small amount or rain. We were finally able to get a semi-dry day--we had periods of rain, but we still made it work!
One of the benefits of the recent rain...a nice puddle, perfect for reflecting!
I just love this one. Not sure why, but it is definitely one of my favorites!
It started raining at about this point in the session, so we made a quick change of plans to head over to Union Station (one of my favorite indoor locations in DC for photos).
I seriously cannot get enough of these arches outside the station.
I thought this shot would be fun--there was absolutely no one on the escalator, so why not, right?
Marina and Chris, it was so fun to have a photo safari with you! I totally enjoyed getting to know you both better and can't wait till the wedding in September!
