Jamie + Robert: Married! Northern VA Wedding Photographer

Jamie and Rob had a lovely non-traditional wedding at Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm in Northern VA. The bride & groom both wore navy and were escorted down the aisle by their respective children. Jamie is a graphic designer and created all the menus, table cards, programs and invitations, which made for some great detail shots. Here are some favorites from the day.

Broadlands Live!

This is my first year as the official photographer for the Broadlands Live concert series. The first show was June 12 and featured Milkshake, and the Texas Chainsaw Horns. It was hot, but a great time.

We had a table at the show and gave away a gift certificate in a drawing. Congratulations to Allison Sherry who was the lucky winner! If you entered but didn't win, don't worry, your entry will stay in the bowl for the drawings at future shows.

Milkshake got the crowd warmed up. They are a great kids' band who have been seen on Noggin and PBS. They put on a rockin' show!

This little guy was too cute with his guitar. I think he would have really rather been on stage instead of in the crowd.

Texas Chainsaw Horns were the main act--this was the first time I have seen them and they were really great.

The sky was great that night-the forecasted rain even held off.

I had suckers at my table which were a big hit with the kids.

Larry, aka, Dancing Larry, kept the crowd entertained and on their feet in between sets.

L+M: Married! Northern VA Wedding Photographer

L & M were married at the beautiful Meadowlark Gardens back in May. Unfortunately, it was my third wedding in a row that had to be moved indoors due to rain! I actually had to turn around and take an alternate route to the gardens because the road I typically take there was flooded out with fast moving water. There were cars in front of me going through it, but I drive a beetle, which is super low to the ground. I could just hear the headlines, "Photographer Swept Away in Current..." Needless to say, I made sure that didn't happen!

The Atrium is really the best place to feel like you are outside, but still be inside. The rain did not dampen their spirits at all, and they had a gorgeous ceremony with their family and closest friends in attendance. The rain even stopped long enough for us to get outside and take advantage of the blooming grounds. All that rain is good for something! Here are a few favorites.

The bride's sisters organized a "Getting to Know You" game that was quite entertaining.

The kids had a special spot equipped with activities and movies. Brilliant move--I highly recommend this if you are having kids at your wedding and you have the space.
