Holiday Mini Sessions!

Now is the time for holiday portraits! Here are the details for this year's Holiday Mini Sessions.

-30-40 minute sitting
-in the studio or Brambleton parks
-all images edited and retouched
-25 flat custom holiday cards of your choice (designs below)
Cost: $100

This year, I will also be conducting a food drive throughout the fall and holiday season. With the current economic state, there has been more and more demand for food pantry services, and at the same time, donations have fallen drastically. I'm a big believer in giving back to the community, and right now, it is more important than ever.

Here are the details:
-Donations will be given to Loudoun Interfaith Relief , which is the largest food pantry in the area. They focus on providing nutritious meals to individuals and families in Loudoun County.
-For every 3 items you bring in, I will give you a $15 credit for use on Pictage! (maximum credit: $105)
These are the items that are on the wish list of the food pantry:
-100% Fruit Juice
-Peanut Butter
-Jelly
-Cereal
-Canned Fruit
-Canned Vegetables (especially corn and green beans)
-Macaroni and Cheese
-Tuna
-Canned Spaghetti and Ravioli Products
-Personal Hygiene Items

Call or email the studio to set up your appointment. Look forward to seeing you soon!

Emily and Adam: Engaged!

Emily loves engagement pictures. Adam....not so much. Understandable, right? Guys usually are not so into looking at photos of them being lovey, even when they are getting married to the love of their life. He was a trooper though and channeled his inner model so Emily would get the photos she loves--sweet, huh?
Here are a few of my favorites from the session. There were so many good ones, it was hard to pick!
This is what true love looks like :)

Love Emily's ring!

Congratulations Emily and Adam. I can't wait till your wedding next year!

Abbey & Scott: Married! (part two)

So, here it is--the long awaited part two of Abbey and Scott's wedding post! Well, maybe not long awaited for you, but for me! It took me a little while longer to get through these photos since we had over 2,000 at the end of the night. We ended up with over 1,800 finished images, and for about a 9 hour day....I guess you could say we were a little trigger happy. So, without further ado, here are some faves.
I love this detail shot of the pew decorations that Kevin captured. Gerbera daisies are my favorite!
LOVE this silhouette of the bride and groom's moms waiting for the ceremony to start. You can see the rain on the windows and there is just enough light hitting their faces to give them some detail.
Bridesmaids waiting for portraits.
The bling.
The gorgeous flowers once again.

This little guy was too cute. He took a nap right in the middle of the reception, loud music and all. After his snooze, he was up and at it again, partying on till the wee hours.
Tossing the bouquet.
I thought for sure the baby was going to get it :)

Did I mention Scott was a college football player? Notice his unique garter tossing technique.
Candy Bar! This was my second wedding this year where they did a candy bar as the favor. The guests literally ate it up, no pun intended. I love edible favors--they are the best kind, imo :)

Congratulations Abbey and Scott! I wish you many happy years together!

Abbey & Scott: Married! (part one)

Abbey and Scott were married on a rainy afternoon at Lewinsville Presbyterian Church in McLean, followed by a reception at the fabulous Hyatt Regency in Reston. The weather didn't bother them a bit, and it even cleared up long enough for us to do some photos outside in between the wedding and reception. As I was editing these photos, I realized there are way too many to put into one blog post, so this is part one!
What can I say about Abbey and Scott? I met Abbey first, through another one of my brides. She told me all about Scott, how they had met in college and how he was still picking out the perfect ring for her (it was definitely worth the wait--her rock is literally blinding! More pics of it to come). I met Scott when we did their engagement photos and I liked him right away. They are so cute together--Scott is a former college football player and all around athlete, but he just seems to soften in Abbey's presence.
The wedding day was a lot of fun, and Kevin and I took so many photos--over 2k to be exact! Weeding out some favorites was no easy task, but here they are so far.
The dress and other details.

All of Abbey's bridesmaids signed the bottom of her shoes for good luck--as if the rain wasn't enough!
The beautiful flowers were done by Carole Garnett.

Evan was the pre-ceremony entertainment.
The kiss.
The new Mr and Mrs!

First dance.

See what I mean about him softening? I love how he is looking at her here.

The toasts. This is where we learned their celebrity couple name is "Scabby." (Get it? Scott+Abbey=Scabby)

Stay tuned for part two of this post...coming very soon!
