Shannon and Blake

This past weekend I got to hang out with Shannon and Blake and shoot their engagement pictures. We braved the slightly chilly weather and did the whole session outside. They are such a cute couple--I can't wait till their wedding in June! Here are a few of my faves from the sitting.

The Cake

Since I posted the photos of Grace with her birthday cake, I have had lots of people ask how they can get a cake in their portrait session too. I got this cake for Grace's first birthday photos and at the end of the session, we let her have at it and took photos of it. She was so cute with it. You can see the blog entry with some of the images here. The cakes will be available for an additional $25 (to cover the cost of the cake and clean up time). and you will just need to tell me you'd like one when you schedule your session. Below are some photos of Grace's cake. I can't guarantee your cake will look identical, but it will be pretty close!

Cathy and Tedrick

I had my first wedding of the season this March. I am a little late in posting these, mostly bc I had so many favorites! Cathy was a stunningly beautiful bride. The ceremony was held at 15th Street Presbetarian in DC follwed by an intimate reception at the mother of the bride's house. The whole affair was very personal and warm. I had a lot of photos that I loved from this wedding!

Kailee's Run

A few weeks back, I read about Kailee Vance, a 6 year old Ashburn girl who had been diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of childhood cancer affecting connective tissue. As a mom, my heart sank when I read this. As a business owner, I immediately wanted to help. A family friend of the Vance's has organized Kailee's Run, which is a run/walk to help raise funds for Kailee's medical costs. The walk is on May 10th in Ashburn. You can find out more information and sign up for the walk at http://www.kaileesrun.com/.
Raffle prizes will be given away and all runners/walkers are automatically entered. I donated a gift certificate to be raffled off and there are many other great prizes to be won. I hope to be able to attend at least the beginning of the festivities to take some photos. I hope you'll join in supporting this great cause! You can read more about Kailee and her story at http://www.kaileesstory.com/.
