L & M were married at the beautiful Meadowlark Gardens back in May. Unfortunately, it was my third wedding in a row that had to be moved indoors due to rain! I actually had to turn around and take an alternate route to the gardens because the road I typically take there was flooded out with fast moving water. There were cars in front of me going through it, but I drive a beetle, which is super low to the ground. I could just hear the headlines, "Photographer Swept Away in Current..." Needless to say, I made sure that didn't happen!
The Atrium is really the best place to feel like you are outside, but still be inside. The rain did not dampen their spirits at all, and they had a gorgeous ceremony with their family and closest friends in attendance. The rain even stopped long enough for us to get outside and take advantage of the blooming grounds. All that rain is good for something! Here are a few favorites.
Some of the details...
Getting ready.
There were lots of kids at the wedding, which I love! These three were too cute.
Seeing the bride for the first time that day as she walked down the aisle with her mom.
The groom's parents during the ceremony.
The rain stopped but the wind didn't! I love how the bride is just smiling away, oblivious to the vertical veil!
Kids! I took these images specifically to do a collage like this.
Beautiful flowers by the Flower Gallery.
Everything looked very lush and vibrant thanks to the rain.
First Dance.
The bride's sisters organized a "Getting to Know You" game that was quite entertaining.
The kids had a special spot equipped with activities and movies. Brilliant move--I highly recommend this if you are having kids at your wedding and you have the space.
The grand exit.
Congrats to you both! I wish you many happy years together and safe travels!!
