Fun with Hair and Makeup

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of doing some portfolio photos for my good friends Kerry and Patty, who together make up Weddings by Kerry and Patty. Kerry is a makeup artist and Patty does hair. They actually did my own hair and makeup when I got married! I think they do fabulous work, so I wanted to help them do a few new looks for their portfolio. These are some of my favorites. You can see the before pictures on their website. The transformations are pretty dramatic! If you are looking for someone to do your hair and/or makeup, I highly recommend them--they will even come to you, which is hard to find.

Washington Bridal Showcase This Weekend!

I'm a little late in posting this--even though it is not wedding season, I have managed to stay very busy! This weekend is the Washington Bridal Showcase at the Dulles Expo Center-North Hall. The show starts at 11, so no excuses about it being Superbowl Sunday! Come see us at booth 454--There will be lots of fun giveaways and show specials. Look forward to seeing you there!

Blue Ridge Bridal Show

This past Sunday was the Blueridge Bridal show out in Winchester. This was the first time we have ever done this show, and it was a blast meeting the other vendors and engaged couples out in that area. We shared a booth with Weddings by Kerry and Patty--they do fantastic professional hair and makeup, which makes such a huge difference in photos. Here are a few photos from the show.

Happy New Year!

2008 was a great year. I think it was my busiest year yet and filled with lots of exciting work. I want to say thank you to all my clients, friends and family who made this year possible for me! I am truly thankful for all of you and feel blessed to know each and every one of you.

Blue Ridge Bridal Show

For the first time, I will be participating in the Blue Ridge Bridal Show on January 18th. I'm actually going to be sharing a table with Kerry and Patty, who do the BEST make up and hair! Since great hair and make up go hand in hand with fabulous photos, we will be offering a special to couples who book both of us for their wedding day: A free trial with Kerry and Patty and a $100 Pictage Product credit from Amie Otto Photography. Additionally, I will be offering a free local engagement sitting or a $100 Pictage credit to couples who book through the show. So, come see us and get a head start on your wedding planning!

Baby Ellery

I photographed Abby and Matt's wedding back in 2007 and was so happy they wanted me to do newborn photos of their very first baby, Ellery. I love to see my wedding couples and see how their families have grown--it is really one of my favorite parts of my job. Ellery was a great model and just so sweet and little. Here are some of my faves from the session.

Bernadette + Larry: Married!

Bernadette and Larry were married at their church, New Hope, in Lorton. The church is a brand new building, and I had the honor of photographing their very first wedding! The building was a beautiful modern church and even had ample room for the reception. Here are some faves from the day.

The ceremony was accompanied by live music, including 2 guitars and a keyboardist.
