So, last week, I finally caught Rock the Reception on TLC. For anyone who hasn't seen it, a professional choreographer puts together a first dance for the wedding couple and it often involves members of the wedding party. The result is something kind of corny, but sweet and highly entertaining. I love it! It's hosted by Tabitha and Napoleon Dumo, who you may know from 'So You Think You Can Dance?'
I actually grew up dancing (I even started out as a Dance major in college, if you can believe that!) so I am kind of obsessed with all the dancing shows, this one now included. Professional choreography+ weddings = TLA for me! I really, really want to photograph one of these dances. So all my wedding couples, you HAVE to apply for the show! Can you imagine how fun it would be!? If only this show was around when I was getting married! I digress....to apply, visit this website. Good luck, and I can't wait to see your first dance!

Kristen and Scott: Engaged!
Kristen and I used to work together back in the day when I worked for the man. This was the first time I had met Scott, and it was so obvious that they are made for each other. The session was non-stop laughs--they are hilarious together. They keep each other, and anyone around them laughing nearly constantly. I can't wait for the wedding. See you in August!

Erin and Dan: Engaged!
Shannon and Blake: Married! (part 2)
I'm now back from vacation and finally getting back into the swing of things. In my haste to finish all the editing I could before I left, I never posted part 2 of Shannon and Blake's wedding photos! So, here are a few more favorites that I picked out. I really loved the photos from this wedding. The ceremony was held at St Robert Bellarmine Chapel on the GMU campus and the reception was at the Waterford in Springfield. Shannon and Blake both went to GMU hence the speed bump photo below, showcasing their school colors.

Shannon and Blake: Married! (part 1)
So, I'm kind of in love with the pictures from this wedding. As evidence, it is now officially July 4, and I was supposed to go to bed hours ago (on July 3!), but I have been pouring over these photos and editing them. I used a different prime lense than my old favorite standby (which is being repaired/cleaned), so I think some of the images have a bit of a different look. Other than that difference, I tried to keep it very photojournalistic, but still creative. I'm starting to get so tired that I am not thinking totally straight, so I'll leave you with some favorites so far and write more about the wedding in my next post :) Happy 4th!!!
