Maria + Wayne: Engaged! | Old Town Alexandria Engagement Photos | Northern VA Wedding Photographer

I met Maria and Wayne down in Old Town for their engagement session on a gorgeous Summer evening. Old Town is such a fun place to do a session and it has special meaning for the couple as they live nearby and had their first date in there. Maria and Wayne are both photography buffs, so we had a great time walking around town and chatting about light, locations and cameras. Here are some of my favorites from the session--enjoy!

Marina + Chris: Engaged! | Washington DC Enagagement Photos | Washington DC Wedding Photographer

Marina and Chris' Engagement Session was one of the many that had to be rescheduled because of the ridiculous amount of rain we got this Spring. The couple actually got engaged along the tidal basin and really wanted to do some photos there. The area tends to flood out with even a small amount or rain. We were finally able to get a semi-dry day--we had periods of rain, but we still made it work!
One of the benefits of the recent rain...a nice puddle, perfect for reflecting!

I just love this one. Not sure why, but it is definitely one of my favorites!





It started raining at about this point in the session, so we made a quick change of plans to head over to Union Station (one of my favorite indoor locations in DC for photos).



I seriously cannot get enough of these arches outside the station.





I thought this shot would be fun--there was absolutely no one on the escalator, so why not, right?

Marina and Chris, it was so fun to have a photo safari with you! I totally enjoyed getting to know you both better and can't wait till the wedding in September!

Heather + Brian: Engaged! Norhtern VA Wedding Photographer

This past weekend, I met up with Heather and Brian to do their engagement photos. We met up just before dusk, and the light was gorgeous! They were total troopers and climbed up hills and rocks and walked through fields for me! It all paid off though, as you can see from these fabulous shots. Here are a few of my favorites--Enjoy!


We actually had to edge out another photographer to get this shot! Suddenly my 'hood has become the place to shoot e-sessions!

Kyle + Patrick; Engaged! Northern VA Wedding Photographer

I met Kyle and Patrick back in January. During the conversation we talked about housing and realized that we would soon be neighbors! They had just purchased their first home together in Brambleton and were planning on moving in before their wedding later in the Summer. For their engagement photos, we decided to do them at their new house and in their new neighborhood and with their two adorable new puppies! Our session was rescheduled FIVE times due to weather before we finally got a nice day. Here are some of my favorites!

We discovered some great hills in the area, and they were troopers climbing all the way up the very soggy slope. I think the shot was worth it!

Ashley & Lynn: Engaged! | Northern VA Photographer

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of shooting Ashley and Lynn's engagement photos, right here in Brambleton. I love photographing couples here--there are lots of great obvious spots, but also many that are not so obvious. I love finding the new spots!
Ashley and Lynn are recent transplants from the Midwest. I felt a connection with Ashley right away--I am also from the Midwest, we are both crafty, and both went to school for something creative. She is doing a lot of diy projects for the wedding in May, which I cannot wait to see! The session was really fun, and it was great to meet Lynn. He recently got his dream job here in VA, which was a big reason for their move! Here are some of my favorite shots from the session--enjoy!



Spring was just strting to rear it's head on our session day. I was determined to get at least one shot with flowers in it!

This is one of my absolute faves from the session. Ashley said it looked like they were on a beach, and I think she is right!








Lynn was so sad the session was over!
