I'm a New Blogger for The DC Ladies!

I recently became a part of a great local blog called the DC Ladies, a blog that "gives you an eclectic mix of what is fun, fashionable, family related and just plain fabulous in our Capital Area for women." It was started by a mother-daughter team and they've done a wonderful job assembling women bloggers who are experts in such fields as photography, pets, fashion, wedding and event planning, health, children and family and much, much more! With daily posts, there really is something for everyone. So add it to your blog reader and become a fabulous DC Lady yourself!

Amy & Rick: Married! | Northern VA Wedding Photographer

I met Amy and Rick in 2007 at a bridal show. At the time, they were planning their wedding for 2008 and were looking for their vendors. I actually remember talking to them quite a bit, but then I did not hear back from them. Then in 2009, I got a call from Rick! Turns out some family events had forced them to postpone their wedding but they held on to my information for 2 years and still wanted to hire me! If that wasn't enough, Rick used to be a wedding photographer and chose me! When another photographer chooses you, it is pretty much the highest compliment, in my opinion.
Their wedding was a wonderful gathering of family and friends. Finding love is always a somewhat miraculous feat, but finding it the second time around is even sweeter! Here are some favorites from the day.




This next one is one of my new favorites from this year. If you can believe it, this was taken in a church parking lot!



Amy did lots of yummy fall details, which was perfect for their October date.

Maria + Wayne: Married! | Washington DC Wedding Photographer | Alrington Wedding Photographer

Maria and Wayne were married on an absolutely gorgeous day in DC. The weather (and light!) could not have been more perfect! I was looking forward to their wedding for while, as I love DC weddings, and their reception was held at Top of the Town, which is pretty much has the best view of Washington around. Here are some favorites from the day.

Maria and Wayne decided to to a First Look, which is always so sweet and gave us a lot more time to do photos of the two of them together.






And the light! I may have gone a little crazy here with all these images, but I love the flare, and these were just too good not to share!

The reception had great blue accents, which really complimented the place cards with photos from trips the couple had taken together. Seems like everywhere they've gone has either had beautiful blue skies or water!
