Gretchen & Brian: Maternity Portraits

Gretchen and Brian are expecting their first little one this December. I always love doing maternity portraits--it is such a special time--difficult sometimes, but special :) My own daughter loves seeing photos of me when I was pregnant with her and knowing that she was what was inside of my huge belly!
I thought Gretchen looked particularly radiant. Pregnancy definitely agrees with her! Here are a few of my faves.

Stacy & Jorge: Married in Fairfax VA! (Part Two)

Here is part 2 of Stacy and Jorge's wedding. As I mentioned, they were married at the Historic Courthouse in Fairfax, VA which was so cute and charming. Apparently, they do not really advertise that they do weddings there, so there are only a few a year. I felt lucky to be able to photograph one! I loved all the brick and archways--I am a total sucker for historic buildings.
As always, here are some of my favorite shots from my 2nd photographer for the day, Rosa. She caught this one during some pre-ceremony portraits.

Rosa hung out in the balcony for part of the ceremony and got some great aerial shots.

The reception was a totally wild dance party! I mentioned to Stacy what a fun family she married into, and she said that they do this almost every weekend! I'm tired just thinking about it!

Jorge's cousin Molly sang "Last Dance." Don't be surprised if you see her on American Idol--she was so good!

Congratulations Stacy and Jorge! I wish you many many happy years together!

Stacy's mom gave her a ring that was her own mother's for her "something old." It was an emotional moment for both of them!

I love Jorge's reaction as he saw Stacy walking down the aisle.

The courthouse had a great balcony that provided some interesting angles for the ceremony.

Nancy & Chet: Holiday Portraits

Nancy and her son Chet have been coming to me for years, so it is always fun to see them and catch up. It's also been great to see Chet grow up. I think he was around 4 the first time I met him! He's now a big 6th grader and is an avid golfer! My how time flies!
These are some of my favorites from the session.
