Rachel, Carrie and Emily

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Rachel, Carrie and Emily. Carrie and Chloe have been going to school together since they were little babies--my how time flies! I am the youngest of 3 girls, so it was fun to photograph these sisters and see the dynamic between them. It was the end of the day and I think everyone had a lot of pent of energy and were just generally reaching the point of exhaustion and just being done for the day, which happens with all kids. Despite all the running around, I think we got some really good shots. Here are a few faves.

This was the last event from my backlog of editing, so I am officially caught up (yay!). Now I just have a DVD burning backlog. My burner died a little over a week ago, so I am in the process of burning everything on a back up computer. So, if you are waiting on a cd/DVD from me, I will get it out this week!

Ruth and Chris: Engaged!

I'm almost through my editing backlog! We did Ruth and Chris's engagement pics a few weeks ago. Ruth has really sensitive eyes and was worried that she would be squinting the whole time, and of course, it was a really sunny day! I thought she did great though, and we got some really good shots. Here are a few faves.

Green Weddings

I've had a few couples here and there say they were trying to plan a green wedding but there was not very much information or resources available. I found a blog post today that has a lot of great resources on ecofabulous. It is a little skewed toward the west coast, but has a lot of great online resources and ideas for how to implement the ideas locally. Here's to happy green wedding planning!

The Guerbers

The Guerbers are one of my long time portrait clients and one of my favorite families. The boys are full of energy, but somehow we always manage to get a few keepers. Claire joined the family recently and is soooo cute! We did part of the session inside and part outside--always good for little kids! Here are some of my faves.

Stacy and Jorge

Still working through my backlog of editing, here are some of my favorites from Stacy and Jorge's engagement session. They are such a great couple and I can't wait for their wedding. The reception is at a fire house, which I think will be fabulous for photos. Blogger seems to be having some issues uploading photos right now, so here are the few I was able to upload.

Abbey & Scott

Abbey and Scott are such a cute couple--I did these shots a few weeks ago but am just poting now as I am working through my backlog of editing. I loved so many of these images--it was hard to pick just a few to post. The day was really sunny, but the sky was amazing! Enjoy :)

Danielle and Patrick

Danielle and Patrick were married over Memorial Day weekend in DC. I am a little late in posting this bc I ended up with almost 1900 final images from the wedding, which is a lot even for me. I seem to be shooting more and more as the season wears on. I think a lot of it has to do with my new baby, the D3. I looooove this camera and the images it produces are amazing.
But back to Danielle and Patrick. They had wanted to take some photos on the Capitol steps, but with it being Memorial Day, the whole place was on lock down. So, we improvised and took lots of photos on the street. I actually love the way they turned out, and you can still see the Capitol in the background, which is at least part of what they really wanted. We also did a lot of photos outside the church on the street, which also turned out great. I really beleive that with a little flexibility, you can get great images anywhere. So, enough of my rambling--here are some faves from the day.

First dance.

I love this picture. The guy seems to be kind of hanging in the air.

The happy couple.

First kiss.

Some of our portraits on the street. This was on a random street corner and then just outside the church.

The interior of the gorgeous St. Peter's in DC.

What would a blog post be without a little sun flare?
Here is one of the photos on a street corner. The beautiful flowers are from Heaven on Earth.

Danielle and Patrick Preview

I am a little more than halfway done with editing the photos from Danielle and Patrick's wedding. I ended up with close to 1800 images, so it is taking me awhile to get through all of them. I like to look at every single image-- I feel like it is the only way that I can make sure that every client is getting the best photos possible. I hope everyone agrees that my attention to detail makes the final product worth the wait :) Here are some faves so far.

Morgan

Morgan is one of Chloe's friends from school and she just turned 3. She has moved on to preschool, sadly leaving Chloe behind. Chloe seems to think that preschool is this mystery place that Morgan has disappeared to--she didn't realize that she would get to go there soon too! Morgan came over for pictures a few weeks ago and here are some of my favorites.
Morgan and Chloe--little princesses :)
The coveted Cinderella phone. Every child that comes into our house, boy or girl, must play with this. Disney sure does have their finger on the toddler pulse!

Lisa and Joe

So, I had never met Lisa and Joe until about a month or so before their wedding. They live out of state, so we did everything over email until they came to the area to finalize details. As anyone who has met with me knows, I feel like meeting is really important because you get to see if you really fit together, share the same ideas, have compatible personalities, etc. Well, I could not have asked for it to turn out better with this couple! From the instant I met them, I knew it was a match made in wedding heaven :) They were so fun, and their families made me feel really at home.
They were married in MD, at the bride's family church, then the reception was at Mt Airy. Here are some of my faves from the day. There are a lot, but I actually had to stop picking favorites--there were just too many!
The wedding paparazzi. Joe and Lisa have some die hard fans!

In the limo.

One of the thank you card photo experiments.
Killer shoes. Lisa spent the whole day and evening in these--a feat in itself!

I think this qualifies as the cutest salad ever. That is a pansy on top, which is, coincidentally, one of my favorite flowers.

Beautiful Mt Airy with some sun flare. What is it with me and the flare lately?

During the toasts.

Some great candids during the reception and dancing.

One of the Thank You Note pictures we experimented with. It was a little windy, but this one turned out pretty good.
